Playing

It is a pity that we very rarely see children playing in the street as I used to do.  I believe it is the advent of computers, more television viewing hours and the fact that parents are reluctant to allow their children to play out of doors for safety's sake, the latter is the most sad.

When I was a child I was always out playing for hours at a time, here are some photos of the games we would play, either alone or with our friends.

The photos have been taken from the "Royalty Free Section of Getty Images"

This young girl is dressed differently to how I used to dress but the plaits are the same.

Running to the shop - a chore which had to be done, interrupting playtime.

Cowboys and Indians.

This was a popular game, inspired by the likes of film stars, "Roy Rogers", Gene Autry, "The Lone Ranger" and other Western Film Stars
